When I Grow Up: Discovering Purpose in Christ
What do you want to be when you grow up? It’s a question every child hears—and one we often continue asking ourselves long into adulthood. Society tells us that purpose is found in a career, a sport, a friend group, or a hobby. But what if we’ve been looking in the wrong places?
In our new sermon series, "When I Grow Up," we’ll explore the lives of biblical figures who wrestled with identity and purpose from adolescence to adulthood. Their stories reveal a powerful truth: our purpose isn’t found in what we do, but in who we are in Christ.
Each week, we’ll examine a different person from Scripture—young men and women who faced uncertainty, pressure, and expectations, just like we do today. From Joseph’s dreams to David’s anointing, from Esther’s courage to Timothy’s calling, we’ll see how God shaped their identities and led them into a purpose far greater than they could have imagined.
For Parents:
We know that raising kids in today’s world is challenging. That’s why this series is designed with you in mind. Each week, we’ll provide take-home material to help you continue the conversation at home. Our goal is to equip you with practical material to help dive a bit deeper into what your children are learning each week at UTH.
Join us as we guide the next generation toward a faith that defines their identity, shapes their decisions, and anchors their future. Because when we grow up, we don’t just want to be something—we want to be someone in Christ.
